Tom Brush Memorial Scholarship Fund

Tom Brush was born in Hamilton Ontario in 1955 but, came with his parents to Salmon Arm in 1963. 

Tom was a good student and an engaging personality who stayed in the Shuswap following graduation. He soon became, and was for many years, sales manager at Salmon Arm Motors, the GM dealership. This position reflected his lifelong passion for things automotive and mechanical. 

Tom was an all-around sportsman, an avid golfer, skier and a member of the Shuswap Quarter Milers Drag Racing Club. 

The Tom Brush Memorial Scholarship Fund was established with the Shuswap Community Foundation by family and friends. The scholarship continues to fund awards to grade 12 students pursuing mechanical trades. 

Criteria:

To provide a scholarship to a grade 12 student in School District No. 83 who has demonstrated proficiency in the mechanical trades (especially automotive trades).

2023 Award – one scholarship of $2,000
