Regan MacAlpine was a former student at Salmon Arm Senior Secondary. He was an active member in hockey circles in Salmon Arm serving as a director and trainer for the Salmon Arm Totems of the B.C. Junior Hockey League and also for the Salmon Arm Aces of the Monashee Hockey League.
He was killed in a tragic car accident in 1988 in Yellowknife and at the request of his parents, an annual scholarship fund was established in his memory.
Criteria:
This award is for either a minor hockey player or minor hockey volunteer. The student must be enrolled full-time at a post-secondary institution. The recipient of this award is chosen with input from the MacAlpine family.
