Shuswap Middle School was fortunate to host the Work BC Find Your Fit event on May 5 & 6.
Vice-principal Patti Lemaire comments the school’s Grade 7 & 8 students visited the career activity stations where they took part in a hands-on activity related to a specific career. The activities are designed to help students find out their interests and strengths, giving them the knowledge they need to get started with their career planning. Then they moved on to a labour market information station, where they dug deeper into a career of interest.
Find Your Fit is a fun, interactive event that helps students discover and explore careers—from a nurse to a technologist to a carpenter—getting hands-on experience at up to 16 different stations.

The WorkBC presentation tours B.C. and Shuswap Middle School was able to host it when there was an unexpected cancellation in a neighbouring school district.
