École Bastion Elementary is so excited to reveal its very first Bilingual Sensory Path! The path allows students to experience movement throughout the school day both as they transition through the school and as a planned movement break.
Movement can help students refocus, self-regulate, calm (think tree pose!), and take control of their bodies and actions. Sensory Path stickers incorporate jumping, hopping, pushing, squatting, counting, letters, colours and other tasks to connect the mind and body. This leads to increased awareness, increased attention and increased calmness. Next time you’re at Bastion, go check them out!
A very special thank you to Bastion’s PAC for supporting this initiative and to staff Laura Jegues, Nicole Robinson, and Amber Prince for laying the path!
