National Day of Truth and Reconciliation

A ceremony in recognition of the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation was held at the District Education Support Centre on Wednesday, September 29.

A heartfelt thank you to the special guest that attended the ceremony today, comments District Principal of Indigenous Education Mishel Quaal. “We wish to acknowledge the Knowledge Keepers, Band members, First Nations Education Council members, school district leadership, school district trustees, First Nations Education Steering Committee representative Anne Tenning, Okanagan College representative Joan Ragsdale, and City of Salmon Arm Mayor Al Harrison for attending this special event.”

Orange Shirt and National Day of Truth and Reconciliation events were held in schools throughout the school district leading up to the first ever National Day of Truth and Reconciliation on September 30.
