Important planning/consultation sessions are taking place for the SD83 Board’s Long Range Facilities Plan (LRFP). As part of this consultation process the Board is hosting public sessions around the district.
On Monday, January 27 a public consultation session will be held at Pleasant Valley Secondary School in Armstrong, starting at 6:30 p.m., for the Armstrong/Falkland region.
An overview of the entire district will be presented, however discussions will mainly focus around Armstrong/Falkland. Again, SD83 trustees and staff will also be holding meeting with school staff and local government to gather input.
On Tuesday, February 4 at Ranchero Elementary at 6 p.m. a public session for rural Salmon Arm will be held. An overview of the entire district will be presented with discussion focussing on rural Salmon Arm schools (Silver Creek, South Canoe, North Canoe, Ranchero).
On Thursday, February 13 at 6 p.m. a public session will be held at the District Education Support Centre (DESC). An overview of the entire district will be presented, with discussion focussing on urban schools in the Salmon Arm area (Salmon Arm West, Hillcrest, South Broadview, Bastion, Shuswap, SAS Jackson, and SAS Sullivan).
On Wednesday, March 11 at 6 p.m. there will be a rural Salmon Arm public session at Sorrento Elementary. An overview of the entire district will be presented, with discussion focussing on rural schools in the west region of the school district (North Shuswap, Sorrento and Carlin).
SD83 trustees and staff will also be holding meeting with local government and school staff to collect input.
