Amanda Krebs was elected Chairperson and Tennile Lachmuth as Vice-Chairperson at the special meeting for Board elections on Tuesday.
Trustees also elected Lachmuth to serve as BC School Trustees Association (BCSTA) Provincial Council Representative and as BC Public Sector Employers’ Association Trustee Representative.
Committee of the Whole meeting
Just prior to the special board meeting for elections, the Board held a Committee of the Whole meeting to discuss the draft of the Board Charter. They also discussed processes for Board Correspondence and Board Self-Evaluation. A Committee of the Whole meeting is open for staff and public to observe. These types of meetings provide the Board of Education an opportunity to discuss an issue before bringing recommendations/motions to a regular Board of Education meeting.
