Science World’s touring science team is in School District No. 83 (North Okanagan-Shuswap) this week!
The On The Road program uses fun, inquiry-based demonstrations to engage students in science, to spark curiosity and to stimulate learning.
Carlin Elementary Middle School was first on the tour! Principal Shane Corston commented at his school there were two assemblies, one with students from kindergarten to grade four where How2Science was presented and the other with students in grades five to eight, where the presentation was entitled Earth Wind Science.
“The presenters were awesome and the students and staff were engaged and enthusiastic,” added Corston.
This week Science World will also make presentations at Silver Creek Elementary, Bastion Elementary, North Canoe Elementary, Shuswap Middle School, Ranchero Elementary, North Shuswap Elementary, Grindrod Elementary and Falkland Elementary.
Science World On The Road visits more than 30,000 students each year, at schools outside the Lower Mainland, who might not otherwise have a chance to visit Science World at TELUS World of Science. The goals are to pique science curiosity, boost science literacy and inspire future science and technology leaders.
