Wednesday, February 27 is Pink Shirt Day and students and staff alike took up the challenge to raise awareness about the importance of being kind and respectful.
Inspired by an act of kindness in small-town Nova Scotia in 2007, when a group of teenagers organized a group to wear pink in support of a grade 9 boy who was bullied, the movement has grown each year and is now international.
Around the district SD83 schools held assemblies, created artwork and stories, and did other activities to promote kindness and raise awareness around bullying prevention. And, of course, many wore pink!
